Sophisticated Lady April 29, 2008
Hi, my name is Lady and that is exactly what I am. I am 7, and while that is not old, they do say I act like a lady much younger than my age. I am a petite little thing too, weighing in at 15.5 lbs. My owner remarried. I don’t know what he was thinking marrying her, but his new wife didn’t want me around. Please don’t feel bad for me though, because it ended up being a good thing for me. They had really been neglecting me badly, and now my new friends at OPRA are loving me and taking care of me the way I deserve to be loved and taken care of. I have just arrived at my new foster home. There are two pugs here, one male and one female. I like them both and they have been very gracious to me, too. I like the humans here too, especially my human foster brother, Joey, because he lets me sleep in the bed with him at night. I was a little food aggressive when I first got here, but now everything is okay because I figured out there’s enough food to go around. See, I’m smart too. I love just hanging out with everyone and I love being outside too, when it’s not too hot. I’m being treated for my skin infection (from neglect and unattended allergies) but my foster mom says I am already looking better. It’s amazing what a little love and care can do for a pug. I have a little human foster sister here too, so safe to say I love kids, too. In fact, I haven't met a puggy or person that I didn’t like. I guess you could say I am a pretty laid back pug girl. I am very good on walks and completely potty trained. I am just an all around swell little gal. If you will just love and care for me, I will bring years of pug love and enjoyment into your life. If you think we are a perfect love match, please send your application today to adopt me. If you love me but can’t adopt me, please send a donation to help my OPRA friends with medical expenses. Hope to see you soon.

Bug needs hugs! April 1, 2008
Hi Everybody, my name is Jack. I’m a fun-loving pug/mix (Possibly Bug?) just looking for the right home! The vet guesses my age between 2 and 3 and I weighed in at trim 20 lbs. I’m a recently neutered male who plays nicely with other pugs and kids and loves attention. I have a clean bill of health. I do not snore, I have no hang ups about food (although I like the soft types of dog treats). I am ACTIVE and love walks, but I also love a lap & plenty of attention. Before coming to live with my foster family, I lived on a greyhound farm, so I think I’m part greyhound and I like to go really fast too. Needless to say, I need a fenced yard to have fun and run around in, but I really, really want to know how to be a house-dog, and I am learning very fast. Although a yard is fun, I can also find fun things to do indoors. I am not yappy, I do not chew things I should not, and my tongue lolls adorably to the side. I am genuinely interested in a family with the willingness to show me the ropes and give me the love I crave. If you think you can provide the home I need and deserve, please submit your application today to adopt me, because I’m looking for you.

Jeffrey
|
A Very Special Pug
April 12, 2008 We are happy to report Jeffrey got through the 6 hour surgery just fine. He is home rehabbing and his progress so far has been very promising. Of course, we cried when we heard he wagged his tail because he was not able to do that before the surgery and that means his spine is now getting messages to his back end. Dr. Hopkins said he still has a long way to go on his recovery before we’ll find out just how much he will improve but his foster mom thinks his fecal incontinence problems are starting to go away too. We are all very thrilled and encouraged with Jeffrey’s achievements so far. Please continue to keep him in your prayers and if you can, please make a donation to OPRA to help us with his sizeable medical expenses. March 20, 2008
Jeffrey is a sweet 2 year old pug boy that has a Cyst on his spine and a bulging disc from an injury when he was a puppy. He has very little feeling in his back legs, but he doesn’t know he’s different from other pugs. He is a calm, loving, endearing guy that likes to catch a ball; play with his dog friends; chew nylabones; and hang with his human 24/7.
Jeffrey’s spinal problems create two challenges for him everyday: 1. WALKING: The Cyst is pressing down on his spinal cord and interrupting the messages from his spine telling him to move his legs properly. He has done his best to overcome the walking challenge and at least for now he gets around pretty good. Being young he still has the strength to pull him self around. He can’t go very far or very fast and when he does try to go fast, he often scrapes the tops of his feet raw. 2. FECAL INCONTINENCE: He doesn’t know when he has to poop. He stays on a regular feeding schedule to reduce the number of surprises. But it’s not his fault. The poor buddy wants to be good; he just doesn’t get any warning.
Everyone that meets Jeff loves Jeff and we were no different. When he arrived at OPRA we took him to a local Neurologist but they basically wrote him off. Fortunately, we didn’t give up. We kept digging for information about Jeffrey’s past until we came up with enough information for a second opinion. When I asked one of Jeffrey’s favorite Vets, Dr. DiNatale in Winter Park, to recommend a different Neurologist, she recommended Dr. Hopkins, a Neurologist in Jacksonville. She thought he was the best, and now, so do we. Based on Jeffrey’s symptoms, Dr. Hopkins felt a MRI was warranted and the MRI revealed his spinal problems that can be treated surgerically with Jeffrey having a very good chance at a normal life. This surgery is rare but has had an 80% success rate.
Now comes the challenging part for both Jeffrey and OPRA. Jeffrey will be in the Hospital for at least 5 days after surgery. Then he will probably be totally paralyzed for 2-3 weeks, due to inflammation in the spine. Then he’ll have restricted activity for awhile. OPRA has arranged for a 6 month payment plan to buy us some time to raise the funds to pay for Jeffrey’s bill, which when all is said and done will total between $6,000 and $7,000.
February 1, 2008
Last week I went to see the Neurologist but she didn’t think surgery was an option for me, so my OPRA friends took me to Veterinary Acupuncture & Complementary Therapy (VA&CT) in Winter Park. They are very optimistic that they can help me. So, for the next few weeks I will be having acupuncture, chiropractic and electrical stimulation treatments. In the meantime, I am loving life at my foster home, playing with the other dogs here and snuggling up to my foster mom in bed at night. Check out the new photo of me doing my best impression of a pin cushion plugged into an electrical socket. Seriously, I really need everyone to say a little prayer for me that this therapy will work and I’ll be able to feel my back end again. Stay tuned for my updates, and please help me by becoming one of my foster angels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 30, 2007 Hi! My name is Jeffrey. I am an especially special pug. Not only am I a handsome man, but I have a very endearing, loving personality to go along with my good looks. My foster mom says my name should be “Sunshine”, “Sunny” for short, because I bring sunshine and happiness with me everywhere I go. I am just a happy go lucky guy. I am only 2 years old and weigh in at a fit 24.3 lbs. I love everyone and everything I meet. I love to go for leash walks, playing with the other pugs here, running in the backyard, car rides, and playing fetch with my rubber ball. I am a great bed mate, too. I don’t fidget around all night or snore loudly like some of my pug friends. In fact, you’ll hardly know I’m there except for the warmth of my little pug body snuggled up against you. I am a little (okay a lot) clingy. To tell the truth, I have a bad case of separation anxiety and want to be with you 24/7, but that’s a good thing, right? So, I need a home with someone who wants a constant pug buddy to hang with all day long. My only complication in my pug life is the numbness I have in my back legs that makes me a little unsteady and wobble when I walk. But don’t think for one minute that it slows me down. When I was a puppy, I had some kind of hip/back injury. Someone said a big dog got a hold of me, but I have blocked out that horrible memory from my happy life. My new friends at OPRA are taking me to a Specialist to see if there is anything they can do for me but I’m not worried because I am happy as a clam just the way I am. The regular vet said I am not in pain and she doesn’t foresee me getting any worse. She says, I am what I am, a happy, lovable, wobbly pug boy. The vet said my only real issue is I need socks or booties to protect the tops of my back feet because when I get running like the wind, I sometimes turn them over and they get scrapped. I am house broken but because of the numbness in my back legs you do have to be very diligent about taking me out. I want to be good. I just need your help. If you love me and want to adopt me, please send your application today. If you can’t adopt me, but want to help OPRA help me, please consider becoming one of my foster angels and donating on my behalf. Sounds like I may need a whole army of foster angels. The Specialist is $165 to get in the door and they say the MRI will be $2,000-$2,500, and that’s just diagnostics. Good thing, I’m worth it.

Cashew (l) & Princess Ming (r) Cashew (below) Princess Ming (below)
|
One of us is a "little nut" March 2, 2008
Meet Princess Ming and her loyal subject Cashew. They are 6 years young and an absolute joy to be around. This sweet pair had the same owner all their lives until they were surrendered to Orlando Pug Rescue and Adoption (OPRA) because the owner was traveling all the time. Princess Ming is a loyal and loving pug; she deserves a home where she will be treated like a princess. She is frightened of large dogs, so no big dogs please. Cashew is appropriately named after a nut. He has a carefree way about him, not always listening as well as his sister but he too has an endless supply of love to offer. They are both potty trained, but like most new fosters they had had a couple of accidents. We attribute that to the trauma of the move.
These two buddies must be adopted together. Like a lot of pugs, they both have eye issues. In their case it’s Pigmentary Keratitis (PK) and they require eye drops (a small price to pay for so much pug love). The vet says when treated, it can be slowed down but not stopped and will eventually cause blindness. Cashew has limited vision now, but it really doesn’t slow him down a bit. Given his carefree attitude, however, he usually follows Ming, letting her guide him. He has the cute habit of shoving his face into the water bowl when he drinks. Either he can't see the water level or the water on the bottom of the bowl tastes better. They also have minor skin allergies and will lie together and chew each others “unreachable” itches. So, as you can see, they need each other for many reasons, and must be adopted together.
Of course, they are UTD on their shots, HW negative and on HW and Flea Preventative now, and next week, Princess Ming is going to the vet to have him check out why she sounds like a freight train. Probably just “Pug” but if she does need any medical care, OPRA will be sure she gets it before they are adopted. So, not to worry.
Both ride well in the car. They are not leash trained but we are working on that. Right now I could put a sled behind them. J If you are looking for pug love squared and have room in your heart and your home for two unbelievably sweet pug buddies, please apply today to adopt them. Their adoption fee is only $350.00 for the pair.

Delightful Delilah
February 24, 2008
Snort! Snort! Hello, I’m Delilah. I just got to my foster home and while I am happy here, I am looking for my fur-ever home. I was left at the vets’ office to be put to sleep by my owner who didn’t want to take care of me anymore. Luckily for me I found an angel named Holly who called my new friends at Orlando Pug Rescue and Adoption (OPRA). I am 7 yrs. young and weighed in at 20.8 lbs. (Ok I’m a lil’ chubby). Aside from my teeth needing to be cleaned and an infection in my ears…..I’m in great health. I breathe a little loud because my nose is small but that just makes it easier for you to find me and I think it gives me character. My foster mom thinks I’m just so precious! Not to toot my own horn… But I’m so sweet that even my foster dad fell in love with me and he was a tough snack to crack. I am snuggly and just can’t have enough human contact. I will follow you around and sleep cuddled close to you at night. My foster mom was also surprised to find that I am 100% potty trained. See, I’m a good girl…Not a single accident yet! I like other furry friends and think kids are fun. I have lots of love to give. If you think I sound like the girl for you, please send your application today to adopt me.

Mikey Likes It
March 2, 2008
Poor misunderstood Mikey. He thought he had found his forever home, but we didn’t know he was food aggressive, and the family that had wanted to adopt him have small children so they didn’t want to deal with that. So, Mikey’s looking for someone who understands that he is a loving guy that just doesn’t like to share his food. Frankly, we think that “food aggressive” is the easiest negative behavior to control that there is. Basically, you don’t bug the pug for the 30 seconds that it takes him to eat. Feed him separately or in a different room and the problem is solved. Mikey’s teeth have been cleaned and he is ready, willing, and able to go to his forever home. If you can handle Mikey’s one negative quality, then you can get his 101 positive qualities (see below). It’s a package deal. J Submit your application to adopt this buddy today.
January 3, 2008
Are you looking for a low maintenance, completely potty trained pug that comes around looking for love then goes upon his merry way? Then, I might be your perfect match. My name is Mikey. My foster mom gave me that name because I am a good eater and like my foster dad keeps saying, “Give it to Mikey, he’ll eat it”. Seriously, I try to eat healthy to keep my youthful shape. I am a young 9 year old pug man, weighing in at 23 lbs. I’m active, but not hyper, just inquisitive and interested in life. I like to go for walks; ride great in the car, get along with everyone and everything, like I said, “Low Maintenance”. I don’t need a crate but because I am crated trained, I’d like one with an open door for my safe place to sleep when you’re gone. I’d love a home with a fenced yard, because one of my favorite things to do is sit in the yard and soak up the sun when it’s not too hot. I’m not a barker, but I am verbal. I woo woo at you for attention. I like to watch and talk to the TV, too. The nice folks at the Humane Society turned me over to my new friends at Orlando Pug Rescue and Adoption (OPRA) because I had been neglected by my owner and needed my ears, eyes and teeth taken care of. Because of the neglect, my vision is little impaired, but I get around great. I’ve already been to the Vet and gotten some ear meds and eye drops. My teeth will be cleaned soon. I have to tell you, I feel just like the Toto, when he got cleaned up to see the Wizard of Oz. Now I am looking for a family to hang out with and love. If you find me irresistible and want to adopt me, please send your application to OPRA today. If you love me but can’t adopt me, please become one of my foster angels and make a donation to help OPRA, help me and my fellow rescue pugs.

I will take you to the Casba....
January 18, 2008 NOTE: This pug is available through Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption
Greetings
to all you puggle (pug/beagle mix) lovers out there in SEPRA-land.
My name is Pepe and I'm a four year old neutered male who was
born in Alabama and found my way to my Florida foster home with
the help of some great SEPRA volunteers. I'm a true southern
gentleman...with the emphasis on 'gentle’ man. I'm a honey color
with dark ears and mask. In August my leg was broken and the
bone didn't respond well to treatment, so on December 10 my leg
was amputated. During the healing period I never used the
injured limb so after the surgery there was no recovery time
beyond sutures. I manage really well with three legs!!!

March 9, 2008
Hi everybody my name is Hooch. I am a big 3 year old HHH (Happy, Handsome, and Healthy) lover boy that likes to shower my human with endless pug kisses. I weigh approx. 30 lbs. but I am not fat, just manly. Up until now I have had the same owner and I have not been abused, so I know how to love and be loved and will make a perfect addition to any home. As much as I love my humans, I would also like a home with a dog buddy for to be friends with, since I came from a home with other dogs. I get along great everyone and everything, dogs, cats, etc. I am crate trained but like most pugs would prefer to snuggle in bed with my human. My foster mom says I have not had any accidents in the house, so if you are good with getting me out; I am good at being good too. I am a pool pug and love to get in the swimming pool with you. Bottom-line: I am a delight to be around. If you think you might be a perfect match for me, please submit your application to adopt me today. I am anxious to meet you. So prepare to be kissed.

Adoption Pending April 12, 2008 Sorry it has been so long since I last reported in but I do want everyone to know just how great I am doing. I am recovering nicely from my first hip surgery. My foster-to-adopt Mom, and her family are taking very good care of me. Some days my other hip still hurts me pretty bad. I do take pain meds but when I’m still hurting my foster mom, puts a heat pack on me too and that usually helps. when that happens. Before long I will be having my next hip surgery. I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it, but I will be glad to get it over with. If you can, please help my friends at OPRA by sending a donation to help with my medical expenses.
January 5, 2008
Well it’s a new year and I’ve got a new plan for pug happiness. I’ve been to the Vet again and this time they did some x-rays. They found out my problem wasn’t my knees. It was my hips. So my OPRA friends are going to fix me up. I am scheduled to have the first of my two hip surgeries next week. It will be a long haul but with my strong spirit, your help and my friends here at OPRA, I know I can get through it. I look forward to closing out the Year 2008, in my loving forever home, and for the first time that I can remember, I will be living pain free. Now that sounds like a resolution anyone could keep.
If you have it in your heart to foster-to-adopt me and help me rehabilitate after my surgeries that would be great. If you do, please send your application today to adopt me. If you can’t adopt me, please make a donation to help pay for my hip surgeries they are going to cost OPRA an arm and a leg. But like my foster mom says, “That’s okay, I’m worth it”.
My adoption fee is only $250.00.
October 28, 2007
My name is Chopper. I'm a handsome, 4 year old, pugstacular young man with a nice fluffy coat. I currently weigh in at 21.5 lbs. I am not one to brag, but I have been told that I have many good qualities. I my a laid back, easy going guy and I am completely potty trained. I love to snuggle in the bed with my new foster parents & fosters sisters (much more comfortable than my doggie bed). I grew up with kids so I love them (everyone really). I love to play fetch and play with toys. My personality is an A plus but my knees are a C minus. As you can tell by all I love to do, I have learned to live with and work around my health issues, but they do say I have bad knees and a little bit of a breathing problem. I’m not worried though, because I know my new friends at OPRA are looking into it and are going to get me any help I need. I do keep most of my weight on my front paws and have trouble getting on the couch and in bed, but hey that is what humans are for – to help pugs in need. I don't let anything slow me down when I'm playing with my new foster pug sisters. It just takes me a little while to calm down after we play. I get along great with other dogs (as long as they don’t bother me when I’m eating my treats). I have a unique looking tail, not sure how to explain it, and as you can see from my pics, I like to dress up. Almost forgot to tell you, I also love to dance.
If you love me and want to adopt me, please submit your application today. If you love me but can’t adopt me please consider donating on my behalf. My OPRA friends could sure use your help with paying for my medical expenses.

Dita (l) & Britney (r)
|
Adopted March 2, 2008
Hello everyone! My name is Dita. In the picture, I am the pretty girl with the white spots and my sister Britney is more brown. We are healthy, little, four year old littermates. So we have always been together. I weigh about 19 lbs and Britney is about 15 lbs. We use to live in the mountains of North Carolina until our owner had to move to Florida. We were 2 of 6 fur-pals in the home. When we moved here, we moved to a smaller home and one of our fur-pals became rough with me. To protect me, my owner surrendered me to Orlando Pug Rescue & Adoption. Since my sister and I are so close and can’t be apart, my owner let her come with me. J So, now we are starting a new Chapter in our lives that you can be a part of. We are a pug mix. We know our mom was a pug but we don’t remember our dad. Doesn’t really matter to us….you decide. Bottom-line is: We are adorable. We are very loving lap dogs once we get to know you and are potty trained. We love being petted and will roll onto our backs so you can rub our bellies. My sister Britney, is a talker (not a barker, a talker) when she gets to know you. She will follow you around and chat you up all day telling you everything. Me, myself, I’m more of a lover. I like giving kisses and getting them in return. We like to sleep in bed but are also very happy with a crate…. As long as we are together. We also don’t beg at the table for food. We want to maintain our slim figures. We are doing great here at our foster home but in order to start our new chapter in life we need you. If we sound like the sweet girls for you, please send an application today to adopt us. WE MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER!

Adopted April 29, 2008
If you are looking for a Love Bug I’m your man. My name is Tonka because I am built solid, like a Tonka Truck, weighing in at 35 lbs. I am a very sweet, 1 year old Bug (Boston Terrier/Pug Mix) boy that will be the best friend you ever had. I hate to brage but I really have no negatives. I am a HHH, Happy, Health, Handsome Bug. I am very affectionate, and I love to shower you with Bug kisses. I get along with everyone (even cats). I like kids too, but probably best for me not to be with toddlers because I might knock them down trying to love on them. I grew up with a big boxer brother so while I love my humans, I am looking for a home with another dog for me to play with too. I am completely potty trained, love to ride in the car. I am crate trained too but much prefer snuggling up with you in bed at night. Like I said, it’s all good when it comes to me. My Owner loved me and cared for me. She was very sad to give me and my boxer bro up, but her personal circumstances changed and we ended up being crated for too many hours every day. She knew that was no life for us, so she did the tough but right thing called OPRA, so I could have a better life. My boxer bro has found his forever home, now it is my turn. If you think you are my love match, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION TODAY TO ADOPT ME. Please do not call my friends at OPRA until after you have submitted your application. They are all volunteers and as you can imagine, a guy as good looking as me, will be very popular. Hope to meet you soon.

Pluto

Adopted
March 22, 2008 Hi Everyone: My name is Pluto. I am a loveable 7 year old pug man, weighing in at 23 lbs. Because I am so cute, I sired many puppies in my previous life but now I have been neutered, and I am looking for a human that wants a buddy to hang with. I am very agreeable and get along with everyone and everything, so if you have other pets, I’m good with that too. My admirer’s describe me as a short, stocky huggable hunk of pug love. I have been to the vet and had my shots updated and even had a full wellness exam. The vet said my blood work looked great but I do have a few crystals in my urine, not a problem now, but to help me to avoid having problems in the future, they put me on a special food. Bottom-line: I’m what they call a HHH, Happy, Healthy, Handsome Pug, and I’m ready go. I think the ideal home for me would be a home where a human is home a lot and/or there is a doggie door for me to go in and out of. Of course, I am crate trained but my friends at OPRA think I’ve already wasted enough of my life in a crate. They want me to have a better life now. They say I am just too lovable not to be loved on all day long. I wouldn’t mind a small female dog to hang with but I would also do fine alone. I am much more of a people pug than a dog pug. I crave human attention. I’m still wearing a belly band at my foster home but that could be because there is another male here and there are also two females here for us manly men to impress. My most enduring qualities are my sunny disposition, my cute little waddle when I walk and the fact that I wag my whole body when I wag my tail. Face it, I’m just plain adorable. If you think you can provide a wonderful home for me, please submit your application today to adopt me. If you love me but can’t adopt me right now, please consider helping my friends at OPRA by donating on my behalf.

Clark (aka Marty) |
Adopted March 2, 2008
Clark (aka Marty because his foster mom thinks he looks a little like Marty Feldman) is a 5 year old pug boy that was rescued from a Florida Animal Shelter. He was turned over to Orlando Pug Rescue (OPRA) because he needs us to help him get ready for his new and improved life. He weighed in at a good looking 19 lbs. He has a loving, bubbly little personality and is a big kisser. He is a cuddle bug in bed too, if you'll let him be. He likes everyone and everything. Like a lot of pugs, he has a chronic eye problem (Pigmentary Keratitis – PK) that requires eye drops. The eye drops will slow done the PK but he has limited vision now and will eventually be blind. But please don’t think for one minute that it slows him down. It doesn’t. He loves to go for walks and plows ahead like he knows where he’s going. He tested Heartworm positive at the shelter, but not to worry, OPRA will see that he is treated for that as well. The Jury is still out on how potty trained he is, since he is living in a new home with two girl pugs and is not neutered yet. Clark is scheduled to be neutered on March 7th, and then he will be on the look for someone to play with, hang with and be best buddies with. So if you think you could be Clark’s forever friend, please submit you application today to adopt him.

Valerie

Adopted April 1, 2008
Hi All, my name is Valerie. I am a little 6 week old pug/mix girl. I currently weigh about 5 lbs. My Momma was a small fawn pug, papa was a ---- ? ---- rolling stone? Whatever I am, I am very cute. Based on my current size, they think I will be more standard Puggle size, like 30-35 lbs, but really only time will tell. My 2 sister, my brother and I are staying with our OPRA friends until we can find good puppy homes. To ensure I get what I need, OPRA has made arrangements to pay for me to get my vaccines and be spayed.
I am the most timid of the group. Oh, I still get in there and run and play but I am just more cautious then my sisters. I am also the closest in color to a fawn pug. I like to burrow into you and feel secure and give you puppy kisses in return.
I would really like a home where I can get good exercise like puppies need and where there is another dog (or you could adopt one of my siblings that would be super, too).
If you love me and think you can provide a safe, loving puppy home for me, please submit your application today to adopt me. As I am still fragile and need lots of attention, please do not apply for me if you have children under 5 or you think its okay to leave me alone all day.
Hope to see you soon.

I am the smallest of the group but believe you me, I don’t let my sisters push me around. I am already a cuddler and a kisser. I like to burrow in and stay warm near you too. As you can see from my photo, my markings are a little different than my sister’s…. Handsome, I’d say.

Hi All, my name is Jamie. I am a little 6 week old pug/mix girl. I currently weigh about 5 lbs. My Momma was a small fawn pug, my daddy, don’t know for sure….Traveling salesman? Whatever I am, I am very cute. Based on my current size, they think I will be more standard Puggle size, like 30-35 lbs, but really only time will tell. My 2 sister, my brother and I are staying with our OPRA friends until we can find good puppy homes. To ensure I get what I need, OPRA has made arrangements to pay for me to get my vaccines and be spayed.
I am the middle child. Sometimes I’m adventurous, sometimes I shy, all the time, I’m sweet. I’m always ready willing and able to cuddle up with you and give you lots of puppy kisses.
I would really like a home where I can get good exercise like puppies need and where there is another dog (or you could adopt one of my siblings that would be super, too).

Hi All, my name is Michele but my friends call me Shelly. I am a little 6 week old pug/mix girl. I currently weigh about 5 ½ lbs. My Momma was a small fawn pug, my daddy, don’t know for sure - Traveling salesman? Whatever I am, I am very cute. Based on my current size, they think I will be more standard Puggle size, like 30-35 lbs, but really only time will tell. I am the most adventurous of the group. I love to romp and play and am already a good kisser. I have the most sad sack face and the biggest head of the group too (more brains, I say).
I would really like a home where I can get good exercise like puppies need and where there is another dog (or you could adopt one of my siblings that would be super, too).

| Pudgy |
Adopted
December 30, 2007 Happy New Year everyone! My name is Pudgy (though one of my New Year's resolutions is to get that changed!!! especially considering I am - 1 year old, full grown, and a petite 11 lbs.!!). I was surrendered to the local shelter after being hit by a car. My former family couldn't afford the medical bills required to fix me up so they made a difficult decision to give me up. The shelter contacted OPRA and here I am! Oh, by the way, my other New Year's resolution is to avoid getting hit by cars! The last one did a number on me...my right rear hip and femur were broken. I had surgery a week ago. Check out my awesome x-ray and you can see all the pins they put in my leg. For the next several weeks, I am apparently under "cage ARREST" - though my foster mom keeps calling it "cage REST". The surgeon said he expects a full recovery and a long happy, healthy life for me! Yeah for me! I was feeling better the day after surgery and each day since...so much better that I am very anxious to get on with the rest of my life! I keep begging my foster mom and dad to let me play with the other 3 pugs in our house or to take me for walks...they keep saying no, "it's for my own good". Hhmmpph. I bet you all have heard that before! If anyone asked me, I'm good as new already and wanting to share myself with the world! I keep trying to convince them with my charm - and millions of princess kisses - but I still have to rest a lot. I eat very heartily, love treats, bones and toys and would obviously prefer to sit with everyone on the couch given the choice. My foster mom and dad let me do that throughout the day as long as they are holding me and that is a great treat! I also sleep like charm and wait patiently for someone to take me out of the crate so I can potty outside (no accidents for me, thank you very much!) Aside from my leg, everyone that sees me says that I am pretty much perfect! No other medical issues and a personality that would win awards. We're hoping, in a month or so, to get me spayed, and then, once the vet clears me for action, I'll be off and running - to you if you'd like! All you have to do is apply for me by name...Pudgy (for now!) And if you can find it in your heart to donate to OPRA to help cover the cost of my surgery, I’d really appreciated it! I wouldn't be here without OPRA's love and compassion as well as the wonderful vets and specialists who teamed up to save me!

| Chloe |
Adopted
March 9, 2008 Last week someone (or should I say something) threw Chloe, a sweet little 8 year old pug girl in a commercial dumpster. Luckily a nice lady, named Heidi, heard Chloe barking and found her just two hours before the dumpster was scheduled to be emptied and the contents crushed. Because of her husband’s allergies, Heidi couldn’t keep her and took her to the Animal Shelter. Once again luck intervened and it was a good shelter that works with animal rescues. They called Orlando Pug Rescue to come and help her and we happily did just that. This little 16 lb. bundle of joy follows her foster dad around just happy to be alive and looking for love. She passes out kisses 24/7, snuggles in bed and gets along with everyone and everything. Once again, I have to say, “What kind of monster throws a sweet little thing like this away?” Chloe has now had her vaccines updated and her teeth cleaned and she is ready for the next and best chapter in her life. Her happily ever after life with you. If you think you are a perfect match for this little darling, please send your application today to adopt her. If you love her but can’t adopt her, please consider becoming her foster angel and donating to help OPRA with her medical expenses.

Adopted
December 30, 2007 Hi, my name is Kiwi, I am a petite sweet 3 year old pug girl that loves to be the center of attention! I am completely potty trained and I love to go for walks. I am a little shy when I first meet people but as soon as I know you are not going to hurt me, I am a cling-on and will bark at you for your attention. I prefer not to be in the crate and cry when you put me in it. My foster mom says I am a little rough with the other dogs when we play, so I would do best as an only pug or with a dog buddy and an owner that can handle a more active/playful pug. I would love to have a backyard to call my own with a fence due to my activity level! I will make someone a wonderful companion, so if you think I am the one, submit your application today. Please don’t call my friends at OPRA until you have submitted an adoption application. If you love me, but can’t adopt me, please consider becoming my foster angel.
